IMPACT STORY OCTOBER 2019

Building Muscle: Fueling the Future

Although he hasn’t been a member of the YMCA for long, Joey Sparren continues to impress us with his motivation and dedication to personal wellness. Driven by sports, he visits the Towpath Trail Y three to four times a week and works frequently with our personal trainer, Dave Lingo, to improve his workouts. Joey claims Lingo has helped him to push himself, give him a better mindset, provide nutrition tips, and set goals throughout his fitness journey. Already seeing changes great in his physical abilities, diet, and motivation, he encourages anyone looking to make changes to their health to consider a personal trainer.

Joey sets his fitness goals high, wanting to beat his school’s records, letter in all of his current sports, and eventually get to play football for a Division 1 college. With the YMCA here to help him achieve his goals, he has no doubt that he is capable of all of it. Stating firm in his beliefs, “Hard work pays off. It takes 21 days to make a habit and 90 days to make a lifestyle.”
