COMING 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR

Before and After School Programs "Y-Club"

The YMCA of Western Stark County is coming to Tuslaw to provide Before & After School programs at Tuslaw Elementary. Registration is planned to start the first Monday of May and continues all school year, until the program is full.

The YMCA Before & After School Programs are state-licensed programs in your child's school on all school days. The Before School Program is open as early as 6:30 am while the After School Program is open as late as 6:00 pm.

The YMCA’s program is designed to provide a safe, engaging environment for children. We offer a variety of physical, educational, and imaginative activities that inspire kids to explore their potential and discover what they can achieve. In addition to reinforcing school learning, children participate in interactive experiences that promote critical thinking, receive homework support from YMCA staff, and build meaningful friendships that foster growth, development, and self-confidence. It’s a safe, fun, and active space where kids can learn and thrive!

To register, download the registration packet, fill out the packet completely and bring the packet to the Massillon Family YMCA. Payment of the registration fee ($25) and the fees for the first week will be due at registration. Minimum of 48 hours notice is needed to start.
The YMCA's phone number is 330-837-5116.

School Days Off and Snow Days

When there's no school, planned or at the last minute, the Massillon Family YMCA and Towpath Trail YMCA are ready with fun and learning for all school age children. School Day Off and Snow Day Off programs are open from 6:00 am until 6:00 pm and include physical activities, sports, arts, crafts, and games. We even sneak some learning in there - but the kids never know because they are having too much fun. During their time at the YMCA, children need to pack a lunch and bring a swimsuit and towel if they want to swim. All children must wear socks and tennis shoes because we keep the children active either in the gym, gymnastics room or on the playground.

Planned days off require pre-registration so we may prepare for meals. Rates range $35-$40 per day depending on location and membership status.

Financial Assistance

Financial Assistance is available through the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services and the YMCA. If you do not qualify for Ohio assistance due to income, you may still be eligible for YMCA scholarship. Through generous contributions to our Annual Campaign, no one is turned away due to an inability to pay.

Summer Day Camp

Summer Day Camp can offer almost all of the benefits of traditional camp—new experiences, skill building, a sense of community and lasting friendships — in rural and urban settings while allowing campers to return home each afternoon. YMCAs across the nation offer day camps for elementary children and some have offerings for those in preschool and teens.

Our Day Camp is a state licensed program run by qualified teachers and experienced staff. Day camp provides a wide variety of activities, learning opportunities, art projects, field trips, special themes and events, and so much more!

This year our summer programs will be located at the Massillon Family YMCA, Towpath Trail YMCA (Navarre), & Perry High School.

Campers will be staying busy, physically active, and having lots of fun new experiences. Activities planned include swimming at the high school, walking to the park, making crafts, thematic weeks, community services projects, field trips, organized group games, summer reading program, in-house shows (e.g. reptiles or magic acts) and perhaps more. Monday through Friday 6:30am to 6:00pm. Lunch provided most days.
